Description A BARS or split sphere is a high pressure-high temperature device used to mass-produce synthetic diamonds. Diamond seeds are placed at the bottom of the press. The internal part of press is heated above 1400 °C and melts the solvent metal. The molten metal dissolves the high purity carbon source, which is then transported to the small diamond seeds and forms onto the seeds, forming a large synthetic diamond. Specialized heat and pressure spirits are used throughout this process to make it more efficient and to add enchantments to the diamonds as they form so they will be even more efficient at smaller sizes when used later on in the production of Apogee’s famed electronics.
